Visiting the New England Archives of AJHS
Scheduling an appointment is required. Although many of our collections have been digitized, several are stored in an off-site facility and we require at least two weeks to ensure the collection you need can be delivered in time for your appointment. Reading Room Hours
Our reading room hours are Monday through Thursday, 9AM-5 PM, and Friday 9AM-2PM.
The staff at the American Jewish Historical Society is available to help researchers with their photocopying, research, photography and genealogy requests. Due to the additional time involved in satisfying these requests, AJHS must charge fees for certain services.
AJHS, New England Archives accepts payments by cash or check.
Staff time is limited to 20 minutes per patron for reference questions. More extensive or intensive research services are available on a fee-for-service basis for individuals and institutions. Please contact Judi Garner at 617-226-1245 or at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
$50 per hour for research services

Photocopy and Digital Archive Services
Hourly labor charge for copying and/or researching the digital archives- $25 per hour
$0.25 per photocopied or PDF page, plus postage, if applicable.
$5.00 minimum for all photocopy/PDF orders requested from off-site.
Please note that certain restrictions may be placed on photocopy requests. These include restrictions based upon the condition of material and copyright compliance. In some cases, written permission of a donor or author of the document is required. AJHS staff members have the final authority regarding what may or may not be photocopied.
