The Morrison family papers include those of Morris Morrison, his father-in-law, Jacob Levin, his brother Ralph and his sons Robert and Sidney.
Jacob Levin, and Morris and Ralph Morrison emigrated from Russia or Poland, Jacob in 1882, Morris in 1889 and Ralph around 1902. Once living in the various neighborhoods and suburbs of Boston, each became active in the Jewish community, a practice that was continued by Morris’s sons Robert and Sidney.
The bulk of the collection was donated by Robert Morrison. Supplementary documents were later added by Sidney Morrison.
Each page below contains a biographic sketch of Jacob Levin or one of the Morrisons, along with pictures of selected documents.
